Soham was founded by Mr Daman Ahuja and Prof.Sanjai Bhatt with the valued help of the following persons
Mr. Daman Ahuja is the Executive Director of SOHAM. He concieved it after having worked as a Development Professional to various National/International Organizations for 19 years. He has served organizations like UNICEF, National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), USAID , V.V. Giri National Labour Institute, Delhi University, Bonded Labour Organisation, NCERT. He has been a founder member of Delhi based well known organization Prayas(Naya-Prayas) in Delhi.
He has been the Manager in USAID funded project in the state of Utter Pradesh at Allahabad, Aligarh and Kanpur with added responsibilities of neighbouring districts of Kaushambi,Kanpur dehat, Unnao,Hathras, Kannauj, and Farukhabad. He has trained Project Managers of various other districts. He was awarded the Best Project Manager twice for his excellent services by Principal Secretary, Health, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh.
He has been Editor of KrantiDharmi a quarterly magazine of Bonded Labour Organisation with Swami Agneevesh. He has written several Editorial Articles in Hindi Daily Newspaper Jansatta and in magazine of Central Social Welfare Board, “Samaj Kalyan”, one of them, “Economics Of Child Labour” has been published in " Child Labour In India" book. He has made several feature programmes for All India Radio, Kurukshetra, New Delhi and Kanpur for 9 Years. He has been a Presenter to UGC programmes on DD-1 for 3 years. He is a National Trainer on Child Labour from National Labour Institute and a National Resource Person for Himachal Pradesh on Life Skills Education Programme from National AIDs Control Organisation
Mr. Ahuja has been associated with various social issues like Child Labour, Breastfeeding promotion, Educational right for every child, Curriculam making for Street and Working Children with NCERT, Family Planning issues with USAID through SIFPSA (State Innovations in Family Planning Sevices Project Agency), Women and Child Health, School AIDS Education Programme, HIV/AIDS, Information Education and Communication (IEC) and Folk Programmes across the country through National AIDS Control Organisation, Organic Farming, Forest Fire, Muscular Distrophy, Disability, Self Help Groups and Drug De-addiction.
He has been a part of one of the largest Mass Mobilization Movement against HIV/AIDS called Red Ribbon Express-a train which traversed across the length and breadth of the country. As National Incharge, Field Planning- Red Ribbon Express in all its three phases though UNICEF and National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) he happens to visit almost entire country (24 States and Union Territories) thrice. During his journeys to various states he met with top Bureaucrats, Political Leadership, NGOs, Spiritual Leaders, Farmers, Media Persons, Industrialist and various other communities and got a first hand experience of people and their problems across the country.
As National Incharge, Field Planning- Red Ribbon Express,  he has addressed thousand meetings with top Bureucrats, Political Leaders and Media Persons. He was Awarded by Union Health Minister Sh. Gulam Nabi Azad on the closing cerimony of Red Ribbon on 1st Dec, 2010 for his meritorious services.
He has been attracted by Meditation as a tool to de-stress his managerial life to the extent that he left his Posh and well-paid job for the setting up of SOHAM and now he spares a lot of his time serving underprivileged children at Solan
Prof. Sanjai Bhatt  is a well-known name in the Field of Professional Social work. Sanjai Bhatt recieved Master and Doctorate in Social Work and Law degree from Lucknow University.
A highly proactive academician, Dr.Bhatt is presently working as Professor of Social Work at Delhi School of Social Work,University of Delhi. He is social work educator, trainer, and development consultant. He has also taught in the University of Lucknow, Varanasi, Kurukshetra and Chitrakoot. At Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya, he contributed to develp Faculty of Rural Reconstruction.
Committed to bridging the gap between social work education and practice, he experiments with different teaching methodologies, works for with grass root organizations. He is associated with a number of social movements and civil society organizations in various capacities. He is one of the founder members of Delhi based advocacy group PAIRVI working for human rights and social justice. He has written various research papers, books, monographs and conducted dozens evaluative studies for national and internationnal organizations.
Dr Bhatt is involved in various movements like Chipko movement, Voters Education Movement, Child rights, International financial institutions. At, present , he is asking Decent Work for working people in organized and unorganized sector.
